2023 TAN RELAYS - DVAC RESULTS

WINNING WAYS AT THE WINTER WIND UP The Diamond Valley Athletic Club has ended the 2023 Winter season with three premierships and one Champion Athlete award. The winter premierships were won by the Women Under 16, the Women Under 18 and the Men 60+ (Short Course). At the final event on the 2023 Winter calendar, the Tan Relays, the DVAC Women Under 18 & Women Under 16 teams sealed their premierships with decisive victories.

XCR Rd 9: Half Marathon & 5km Road Race

In near perfect conditions for the running of the Athletics Victoria Half Marathon and 5km Road Races on Sunday 3rd September, it was the hot form of the Diamond Valley Athletic Club juniors that provided many of the highlights. Of the 41 Valley athletes who competed in the penultimate event on the winter calendar, 20 were juniors who were set to run a 5km Road Race. There were three DVAC juniors who won individual medals and 4 DVAC junior teams that were placed in the top three for the Round. A

2023 AUSTRALIAN CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS

Eight DVAC juniors travelled to Mount Stroll, Canberra to compete in the 2023 Australian Cross Country Championships. Heidi Kuppler won the Girls 11 Years 3000m Championship. Team medals were won by Heidi Kuppler, Matilda Johnson and Jordan Rudd.

XCR RD 8: EKIDEN RELAYS_DVAC’S RICH HARVEST ON THE HILLS

The Diamond Valley Athletic Club reaped its best harvest for the XCR23 season in Round 8 on the slopes of the St Annes Winery estate. The 50 DVAC athletes (19 Women & 31 Men) who took part in the Ekiden Relay had to dig deep on their reserves of courage to negotiate the testing hills that threw new challenges at them around every turn. Four medals & great team results were earned by the Valley.

Winter Success set up at Wendouree

The success of the 2023 Winter season for the Diamond Valley Athletic Club was confirmed by a strong showing at the Road Races around Lake Wendouree on Sunday 6th August. Despite the early start at Ballarat on a Sunday morning there were still 40 DVAC athletes (14 Female & 26 Male) present to fly the club colours in either the 6km Road Races or the 15km Road Races.

XCR23 Round 6_CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS AT BUNDOORA PARK

It was a huge day of Cross Country racing at Bundoora Park on Saturday 22 July 2023. The Schools moved out and the action continued with the 10km races as well as the Under 20 events. DVAC emerged from the action pleased with the good team results.

2023 VICTORIAN ALL SCHOOLS CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS

Eighteen junior members of the Diamond Valley Athletic Club (10 Girls & 8 Boys) represented their schools to compete in the 2023 Victorian All Schools Cross Country Championships. In the busiest day of Cross Country running for the year there were 1,063 students flying the colours of their school in the 6 different age groups that were set the challenge to cover distances of 3km, 4km or 6km over the hills of Bundoora Park. VALLEY OUT IN FORCE AT SANDOWN_XCR23 RD 5

Round 5 of the XCR23 season saw 51 DVAC athletes take one or two turns around the 3.1km circuit at Sandown. There was an abundance of teamwork and endeavour as each athlete battled to circuit and the wind.

XCR'23 Round 4: Cross Country at Cruden Farm

Another strong turn out by the Diamond Valley Athletic Club for XCR'23 Round 4 at Cruden Farm. On a true test of Cross Country running over the windswept slopes of Cruden Farm and the Valley athletes passed with flying colours.

2023 JUNIOR 3.44km JOHN HERTZ HANDICAP EVENT

The Junior 3.44km John Hertz Handicap event at Yellow Gum Park, saw a field of 13 runners take to the hills of the Blue Lake trail and master the challenge of two laps around the Lake.

OPEN 6.88km JOHN HERTZ HANDICAP AT YELLOW GUM PARK

Despite the threatening rain band working across the Diamond Valley there were still a band of DVAC athletes keen to support this year's John Hertz Handicap held at Yellow Gum Park on Saturday 3rd June 2018.

VINTAGE VALLEY VALIANCE IN THE VINEYARDS: ST ANNE'S CROSS COUNTRY

35 DVAC athletes took on the St Anne's Winery challenge. For most it was a very sobering experience negotiating the hills, sharp turns, ruts and uphill finish. At the end of the day, all agreed that the experience was a positive one and one they would would welcome again next year.

2023 DVAC BINNAK BOWL

Conditions were cold and wet at Binnak Park but the large turnout of 40 runners took on the challenge of completing the 3km and 5km Handicap events with enthusiasm. What followed was as excellent running of the annual Binnak Bowl.

XCR'23 RD 2: ALBERT PARK ROAD RACES_DVAC RESULTS

The weather was definitely a challenge. So was having to run 10km around Albert Park Lake - but a large contingent of DVAC athletes took up the challenge with some outstanding results.

CROSS COUNTRY SEASON OFF TO A GOOD START AT THE VALLEY

The conditions were ideal at Jells Park for the opening round of the Cross Country season; the numbers were up with the Diamond Valley Athletic Club; and the team efforts were impressive enough to indicate that our Winter competition will be a good one.

VALLEY JUNIORS COMPETE AT THE 2023 NATIONALS

The Diamond Valley Athletic Club was represented by 22 athletes at the 2023 Australian Junior (U13 to U18) Track & Field Championships. Sixteen girls and 6 boys journeyed to Brisbane to compete in the Nationals. The result of their efforts are four medals, lots of pb's and valuable experience.
