HEAVEN IN ROUND 7

  • Welcome to the Valley! Two athletes made their first appearance in Valley colours in Round 7: Elisha Blair blitzed down the 100m in a pb time 13.21 & Charles Jacobson bolstered the M40+ Distance team with an excellent 17:45.6 in the 5000m. Thank you & welcome!
  • Two athletes made a welcome return to competition after long term injury layoffs - Elyssia Kenshole & Caden Murray. Elyssia, a national level Pole Vaulter was pleased to do the Shot Put (8.82m) while Caden Murray completed the 3000m in 10:20.8. So good to see these two back in action!
  • Fieke Van Der Kamp (WU18) book a spot at the Nationals with a run of 18:20.9 in the 5000m. As the only female in a large field, Fieke showed lots of courage & stuck to her mission.
  • 7 out of 10 Juniors do 1000pts! DVAC is fortunate to have so many talented juniors lining up to compete each week. In Round 7 this was so evident on the Most Valuable Athlete list where the DVAC list was headed by Asher Andrews (1303), Tara Smith (1219), Ally Brooks (1208) and Kirra Wright (1198). Other Juniors in the top 10 were Mackenzie Genders (1125), Vanessa Smith (1054) and James Hurley (1069). Congratulations to every athlete who contributed to the Valley total score.
