The Annual Club Winter Handicap Competition is back. The rules are the same as previous years. Here is a run-down of those rules:

• Three Competitions: Under 20; Open and Masters (age taken as at start of season). Male and Female are in each category together (no discrimination here folks!).
• 5 points awarded for each run (DNFs do not count).
• Bonus points awarded after each athlete's first race of the season (so an average is established). Within each category, the athletes are ranked based on who betters their average km rate from their last 3 runs. Bonus points are awarded 10 points down to 1 (where up to ten runners in a category). If more than 10 runners in that category, points are piggy-backed from bottom up. Example: 15 runners, bonus points are awarded 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 5, 4, 4, 3, 3, 2, 2, 1, 1.
• For the Coliban Relays, a flat 10 points are awarded to each runner (because of varying leg distances)
• All XCR'11 and club races count towards this competition (Schools XC at Bundoora are included in this)
• Runners who wear the correct club uniform or club apparel at club races, earn a bonus 2 points.

This competition rewards those who run often and improve.

Results after now finalised after the Tan Relays. Congratulations to Sam Quinn (juniors), Sarah Fisher (open) and Chris Lynch (veterans). The last two categories were decided with the last race of the season!
